The 2024 Heisman winner out of Boulder will likely be the second overall pick in the NFL draft. There has been a ton of speculation about which side of the ball Hunter will primarily be playing in the NFL, but as we get closer to the draft, it is looking more and more likely that Hunter will be deployed as a lead wide receiver. Hunter is simply different from the rest of the prospects in this class with fluidity to his movements and unmatched ball skills. Hunter is a joy to watch as he can run any route, gets open with ease, and effortlessly plucks the ball out of the air when targeted. As a lighter receiver he does struggle a bit when pressed, but that is the only knock I saw on film.
Hunter stands out from the rest of the 2025 receiver class in the model as well. If he had played for a D1 team his freshman season instead of attending Jacksonville State he would have scored even higher. There really isn’t much to nitpick about his model score. His elite ball skills and hands stand out in our model metrics and he is simply a great prospect that we will be able to enjoy watching on Sundays for years to come if he sticks to playing wide receiver.
Film Notes:
One of the best effort blockers in this class which is insane given the number of snaps he played every game
Such a fluid athlete that creates separation with ease
Solid threat with the ball in his hands after the catch
One of the best in the class at elevating and adjusting to the ball in the air
